About Me

The place I find myself now is not where I expected to be when I was younger, not that I was ever very sure where I would end up. By the time I left school my two passions were drumming and Photography, I had dabbled with both in high-school and found that I had a bit of a talent for them. After leaving school and working for a while, in 2005 I decided to study Photography further at Stevenson College in Edinburgh. As much as I enjoyed the course it soon became clear to me that a job as a Photographer was becoming less viable as I was on the cusp of film seceding to digital and my love of Photography was very much rooted in the magic of film and the darkroom.

A few years later, after playing in a band in Edinburgh, I decided to further pursue my passion in music and drums. in 2008 I moved all the way down to Bristol, England to study at the Bristol Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) where I learned from some of the best musicians in the industry about the art of drumming, music history and business. This was one of the best years of my life, I learned a lot about music and myself. Over then subsequent years I played in numerous bands with varying degrees of success but the music industry is a cruel mistress and the music I am passionate about playing is not very prevalent.

After 10 years of working various jobs I decided to find something else to become passionate about, something I could make a career out of and see myself doing for years to come. This is when I decided to go back to college and study Web Development, with a family member in the industry for encouragement it seemed a good plan. I am very glad I did. In 2018 I went to Edinburgh College to study Web Development and it has been proved to be very enjoyable as it allows me to be creative while also positioning myself for a career down the line. After 2 years in college I went on to further my study and Edinburgh Napier University where I received an Upper Second-Class Bachelor's Degree with Honours BSc. I now aim to transition into the web development industry, putting the skills I learned into practice.
